  About Directorate of Airworthiness

An airplane is known to be hundreds of thousands of parts flying in close formation; the people who ensure that the formation will fly are the engineers. From the moment the aircraft is assembled till it retires, engineers play a vital role. A part from the engineers, many people also contribute to the safety of the aircraft.

Since the aircraft flies within a system and anyone who is part of this system, makes a mistake, would affect the safety of the aircraft. In other words, a mistake by any person would create a chain reaction which would end up in the cockpit. If the pilot is not quick enough to handle the situation, it would be termed as pilot error.

The Airworthiness Officials are also a part of the so called safety chain; therefore they share an equal responsibility in the safety of the aircraft. Preventing accidents/incidents from happening and most important preventing recurrence of accidents/incidents that have happened, is one of the main responsibilities/objectives of the Airworthiness.

As a contracting state of Civil Aviation Authority (C.A.A), meet all the C.A.A requirements which are covered in different C.A.A regulations such as airworthiness Notices. And accepts the C.A.A Airworthiness Standard as outlined in International Standard Airworthiness of Aircraft, to the convention on International Civil Aviation
